Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

A relative to act on our behalf

There is a property back home in Samoa. Our father was the one that handle all the matter concerning their father estate. There were three children including himself. He and his brother are both decease now and only one sister whom is still alive.

Our aunt has been living in this estate and continue till this day.

She has request myself and four other siblings to grant her a power of attorney to act on our behalf and all matter concerning this estate.

We all have come into agreement to grant her the authority.

Two of us live here is California, one in Virginia, one in Seattle and one brother in Iraq.

Please direct us to what form/s to obtain and what is the proper procedure to go about for this matter.

Re: A relative to act on our behalf

There is not an actual "form" for a power of attorney, they are kind of made to tailor each situation.

The problem you may have, is that thee may be no attorney available here who is versed in Samoan laws.

I, like many others here, can supply you with a power of attorney as you requested, even a basic one for your sibling in WA, the problem still comes back to Samoa. What do their courts require?

In the US, a notary seal is sufficient in any state because the notary certifies the person signing is the actual p[erson they claim to be. Is there a similar requirement in Samoa? Would an US notarization be sufficient?

Would like to help more, but...

Scott
