how long do we wait to stick an abandoment notice on a rental?

Re: renter abandoment

There are two requirements. The rent must be at least 14 days past due, and the landlord must "reasonably believe" that the tenant has abandoned the premises. There are no hard-and-fast rules as to what can lead to a reasonable belief of abandonment, but if the tenant has moved out most of his or her possessions, that could be sufficient.
