Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

Police sexual harassment and coersion

I have had an experience with the LAPD where the detective on my case continually asked me to go out with him. He asked for nude pictures of me, ask me to come over to his house and more. I have more details if there is anyone that can help me, I would be more than happy to send them to you. I am looking for someone to tell me what direction I should go in.

Re: Police sexual harassment and coersion

you should document and date all of the evidence that you do have, since there is an adversarial "professional" relationship established between you and this officer who is harassing you. if you have not put him and/or his department on notice to "stop" the unwelcomed advances, you should do so immediately to preserve your rights even further. if the harassment continues, you would have very plausible causes of action against him personally and/or the city for failure to take affirmative steps to eliminate the problem. if you would like further legal assistance and/or representation in this matter, feel free to email my office today with more details.

File a written, detailed report of all your facts with the police department, with a request they investigate and discipline him. Send it by registered mail or other proof of delivery. Send a copy to the local District Attorney with a request they investigate as well. If you have proof and cooroboration of your charges, you may have grounds for a civil lawsuit. If interested in have an attorney represent you in these matters, contact me to discuss.
