Legal Question in Social Security Law in California

SSI Benefits and Future Inheritance

I have willed everything to my son, who is on SSI. He is my sole life insurance beneficiary. I heard people on SSI cannot have more than $2,000 in the bank. So when he inherits from me, will he be kicked off SSI even though he cannot earn his own living?

You need to consult with an attorney who can help you structure your inheritance in a way that minmizes the likelihood of that happening.
