Tax witholdings

I am going to be a first time home buyer in the next 1-2 months. I make $72k a year and i have 1 dependent. I recieved a refund last year. Am i able to change my tax exemptions maybe 8 or so or file exempt as the property taxes and mortgage interest is deductible at year end? I contribute 6% of my salary to a 401k and also make regular contributions to a ira and hsa account.
