order of suspension

....My question is.. who do i need to get help from (low income) single parent.. that is getting her license suspended because of the past.. the ex husband was drunk driving and hit a car and a house.. and my name was on the vehicle at the time..and now my license is suspended.. i really need my license to get my kids to childcare, and school as well as i need to get to work.. who do i need to go to for something like this.. i can not afford $3500.00 for the insurance company that is sueing me.. help please

Thanks for your posting. Your situation is a common one, and is unfortunate. There are two ways you can get your license back:

1. Pay off the amount. You mentioned this is not an option, but you can also negotiate to satisfy the judgment and make payments, or reduce the total if you can come up with something in full.

2. File bankruptcy. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy will discharge the judgment debt, and thus lift the DMV hold on your license (due to the judgment, which will no longer exist).
