Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Red Light Ticket

i was issued at camera red light ticket by mail in April. i moved to a new apt. in March and never received the ticket. I never received the following court date notice either. the first i heard of it was from a civil assessment notice from the collections agency on 8-5-08. i didn't change my address until recently, but i did have forwarding on my old address

is there anything i can do to pay the original ticket without having to pay the civic assessment fee?

Re: Red Light Ticket

If you go to the court and advise them of the facts described in your question, the court will set aside the civil assessment.

The court will then let you plead "not guilty" and/or permit you to settle the matter with traffic school.
