Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

trying to change name on lancaster land. Owners deceased and family agrees to have land given to grandson. If family signs an affidavit can that be possible. Or would it be easier to change name to wife who is living.

Unless the property was held in joint tenancy with someone who is still alive, or was conveyed into a trust before death, you are going to have to go through probate.

Probably easiest to get it into wife's name first and then have her deed it. Depending on current title, and value of property, some type of probate proceeding may be required. Call me to discuss your options. I conduct probates throughout California. -John
