Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Guardianship in California -- not juvenile

I have a friend in Florida who does Guardianship work -- he goes into recently deceased

or incapacitated people's homes and finds out the value of their estate which he then

turns over to a lawyer. I am trying to find the same info in California, but when I called

the local probate court and asked about Guardianship work -- I've been referred to

juvenile court.

Does California call this work something else?? Or does California have a different system??

If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Thank you
