Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

What are inheritance rights of adult children of a man living in California? He owes back child support for one child to ex-wife, based on an out-of-state court order upon separation. He later obtained a divorce without wife knowing (until years later) which did not mention child. He is now re-married. One adult child from his first marriage, one adult child born out of wedlock. It is possible that there are two more children, both born out of wedlock, one or both possibly adopted, whereabouts unknown.

Total up the claim with accrued interest and have that child file a creditors claim in the estate of the deceased father, attaching a certified copy of the court order for the support, if he is deceased and there is an estate open. Otherwise, obtain a certified court order from your state and have the order recorded in the county of residence of the father if he is alive, and refer the matter to a collection agency to attempt to collect.
