Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I was being represented in a civil matter and both my attorney and I got anonymous letters threatening our lives and the lives of our loved ones if the case continued to be pursued Unknown to me, he dismissed the case with prejudice. I received letters from his Doctor that he is being treated for anxiety, stress and insomnia and his medical advice is to disallow participation in the case indefinitely. I havent'spoken with him fearing it would create a liablility on me as well by exacerbating his alleged condition. I need to sub him out, but I'm so confused at why he did dismissed it with prejudice. How can I get my case back?

You can try a CCP 473 based on error, but I would believe its not likely. You may have a case against your attorney.
