Statute of Limitation for Promisary Notes

I need to know the statute of limitations on promisary notes owed by the deceased.

This depends on many factors, but the contract statute of limitations is generally four years.

However, there is a one-year statute of limitation, from the date of death, for suits against one's estate. And, if the creditor received notice during a probate, there is a four-month window during which to file a claim.
