A deposition does not have to take place in the county where the work-related injury occurred. It usually takes place at the applicant's attorney's office, the defense attorney's office, and sometimes at a court-reporter's office. Just make sure you keep tract of the miles that you travel to and from the deposition because the defense must reimburse you for your mileage.

In any event, you should not step into a deposition unrepresented.
