Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Laid off after workman comp claim

Jan 18, 2001 I was injured while working, I setup trade shows for a telecom company. I filed a claim with the company, I began seeing a chriopractor. I did not miss any work. On May 8,2001 I was laid off due to the company economic situation. the company is doing fine and yet I am not. It will be a year since I filed the workman's comp claim. Jan 2 I had an MRI - It shows a problem with my neck - The pain has gotten worse and now I am experiencing numbness in my finger tips. I am unable to sit at a desk for any length of time - I can no longer lift anything over 20 lbs. Should I seek an attorney?

Re: Laid off after workman comp claim

I am sorry to hear of your neck injury. I have handled many cervical disc injuries and it is a most serious matter. You deserve a very high award. The worker's compensation system is very adversial. The insurance companies will get away with anything they can. They will pay you the minimum on your claim unless you obtain representation to protect your interests. The worker's compensation insurance companies have attorneys, why don't you? Attorney fees are limited by law to 9% to 12% of the final settlement or award. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.

Yes

It is in your best interest to seek an attorney, especially if there is a correlation between your losing your job and filing a WC claim.
