Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

Workers Comp. & Satute of Limitations?

I was hurt on the job in Aug. 2000. A beam fell on my foot

and I fell approx. 6 feet. The tip of one of my toes lost its skin, 2 bones broke and the bone of a toe had to be snipped. I was informed by the treating Dr. that unless the bone was snipped it would cause lifelong pain. I was in burn bandages and in crutches for weeks. I never recieved any money from workmens comp. Just the medical treatment (even though I could not go to work) I was temporarily disabled. It has been 2 1/2 years and my foot is again in pain. The toe that recvd. the most damage is still not entirely healed. I'd like to see a Dr. about this again...but I don't know what steps to take. After my last Dr's appt. I just never heard anything more about workers comp. I have since started working for a new company (laid off from the previous) and have moved from Southern to Northern CA. I'd like to resume medical care for my foot. Is it too late? What steps (if any) can I take?

Fortunately you have four years to file an application for adjudication. However, do not delay in obtaining representation. Attorney's fees are strictly fixed at 9% to 12 % of settlement or award. Notice to the employer and the carrier must be made immediately if not done before. You are entitled to temporary disability pay, medical treatment, permanent disability pay and vocational rehabilitation benefits. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
