Legal Question in Business Law in Colorado

We have a nonmedical personal in-home care company. A client called us to report that our employee said he has bed bugs at his apartment and the employee showed the client bites received from the bed bugs. Our employee had brought things from his home into our client's home, and now the client is looking to our company to take action as if the client's home has the bugs even though there is no evidence of bugs. What is our company's responsibility to this client? We want to do what's right for everyone, and the local health department is stumped by our question.

Are you saying your client has bed bugs or your employee does? As a franchise attorney, I can say non-responsibility for pre-existing conditions is normally spelled out in the home care - client contract. If the employee has them, there is probably no need to take action unless the client has recent evidence of them. Bed bugs tend to be epidemic during this season. Consult with a good business attorney in your area for specific advice.
