Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Child Support

I have a open case with Human Services for my two childrens' child support cases. They can't keep up with my ex-husband I'm the one that finds out where he's working. I don't get child support regularly, my last check was received at the beginning of February. He usually quits his job as soon as he knows they have caught up with him. Last I knew he is driving on a suspended license. What is the statute for jail time. He is in arrears to my two children $6600.00 and he has 4 other children. Do I have any legal recourse to get him to pay or to have my new husband adopt my children. My ex-husband only sees our 4 year old, our 3 year old is scared of him.

Re: Child Support

An attorney can help you get your money. prosecute the father, and have his parental rights terminated to allow adoption--but it won't be easy.
