Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Colorado

private party check writing

writing a check for shipment to a personal party/kennel owner -- did not ship puppy. is there anything i can do leaglly? does this break any theft laws?

Thanks for your posting, and I'm sorry to hear about your puppy!

You might be able to contact the local law enforcement, but I think, as Mr. Tenner suggested, that they may tell you this is a civil matter.

I wouldn't say this was as much theft as fraud -- and I'll bet this has probably happened to others as well.
