Legal Question in Immigration Law in Colorado

Citizenship for war vet that served when not a legal resident

I have been a permanent resident for 3 years, married to a U.S born citizen and also served in U.S military during war time and was honorably discharged, However When in the military I was not a lawful U.S resident. What are my options for naturalization keeping in mind the questions regarding serving in the military.

You are eligible for naturalization now on the basis of your military service. If you have been married to the US citizen for 3 years, you are also eligible for naturalization on that basis.

What was your status when you were in the US military?

If you committed fraud, it will be difficult for you to naturalize

and the aaplication could result in institution of deportation proceedings.
