Legal Question in Employment Law in Colorado

My boss told me his lawyer said he could keep my last check because i gave him my two weeks and he fired me. is this legal?

If that money was earned, it is yours regardless if you gave your two weeks notice and then were fired. If it is earned income, it is yours and it must be paid in a timely manner as provided under Colorado law.
