Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Connecticut

I agreed to cosign on a new car loan for my daughter. The saleperson told her where to sign and walked away. She thought she signed my name as the cosigner as she had my permission to do. As it turned out the salesperson put me down as the primary purchaser on the car and told her to sign my name. What can I do to get out of this agreement/contract since the salesperson totally took advantage and had my daughter sign in the wrong place? Can I turn the car in without getting my daughter into any trouble and not ruin my credit history? This transaction occurred in Ohio and I live in CT.
