summons to appear in court
Am I obligated to appear in court toanswer a summons for A debt I am not disputng or can I not appear and admit guilt by default and not get into trouble? I have never received a summons before. Pease advise as soon as possible

READ MY LIPS: Run, do not walk, to the courthouse, and if it is a small claims court, have the clerk help you file an ANSWER. If it is a Superior Court, have the clerk help you file an APPEARANCE.

Yes, if you DON'T defend yourself a judgment will enter against you, and after that it may go on your credit record. You should defend yourself (even if it turns out that I'm the lawyer suing you).
