Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My question is i was in between divorce attorney's, i just retained a new one, my old lawyer doesn't want to go up against my husband's attorney, so i had to get someone tougher, my husband's attorney sent me a nasty letter to my home instead of sending it to my attorney's office, i never said i was representing myself, did she break the law by doing that?

An attorney is required by ethical guidelines to communicate through the opposing party's counsel.
