Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My sister recently passed away. She had requested that I help her husband oversee the upbringing of her children who are 13 and 8. My question is what do I have to do to be able to make medical appointments and other things that require a parent because of the privacy law.

Her husband would have to give you a power of attorney or sign releases with the medical providers so that you can manage their medical care.
