Tenant responsibility

My husband and i are seperated, I moved out of apartment Feb.2002. He still resides there both of our names are on the lease however he makes the rent payments. If he decides to not pay rent am I responsible for the payment even though I do not reside there, and I notified the landlord that I have moved out?

Yes,you are still liable because the lease acts as a contract.The lease needs to be renegotiated to get your name off. Dennis P. McDonough
