Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Connecticut

harrassment

I had broken up with my girlfriend yet still occassionally text msg. We argue and the texts become demeaning and very heated. She has been threatening me that she will call the police. I have never threatened to harm her in any way! I just belittle her as she does me. she called the police and filled out a restraining order for harrassment. What about my rights and free speech? Cant I contact her and she has the option to hang up or not respond to my text or call? I am not texting at a inreasonable time of day

Re: harrassment

If she has a restraining order, you have to follow the terms of the order. If you violate the order, you could be subject to arrest. You need to deal with the restraining order first. If you need further help, you can email me at [email protected].
