Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Searching for Previous Last Will and Testament

I was told that if more than one will was made by someone that any previous will would be filed in a court somewhere. I need to find a previous will.

Someone I know changed their will one month prior to their death. I need the previous will for a specific reason, it is not to contest the new will but for another reason. Would this older will be filed somewhere? Need to go do this now, need help.

Re: Searching for Previous Last Will and Testament

Wills are not "filed" anywhere except the probate court when the person dies.

Previous wills that are superceded by a new will are usually destroyed. If they are not destroyed they are lying around somewhere. Generally, the attorney who drafted it keeps a copy.
