Legal Question in Consumer Law in District of Columbia

Question

I brought my ''94 car to a dealership for repairs I handed the keys over myself I informed the mechanic that I will handle the bill and to not replace the tires. I later find out with out my permission released to my father that the mechanic replaced the tires and made unauthorized changes because of my fathers request after I specifically told him that I did not want my father to pay or make decisions regarding my car. Is this legal?

Re: Question

If the mechanic reasonably believed that your father was authorized to make these additional requests for tires and other repairs under your repair authorization, it would be my

opinion that you're likely responsible for the bill.
