is this true that you can adjust status, even if you not a spouse, child or relative of a US citizen, you entered at the point of entry and you have your vwp I94 as long as you in status.

Sure, you can alsways attempt to adjust your status(to something else),

as long as you're here legally in the U.S. and not out of your prior status and have an up to date I-94. However, you will not necessarily succeed unless your petition to adjust is supported by the appropriate facts (and persons, company, organization, or other entity, etc.) which may be required for the USCIS to approve your request for such an adjustment of your status.
