Legal Question in Employment Law in District of Columbia

Husband worked for company in Washington DC was part of a profit sharing plan with said company when he left he still received his yearly statement showing what he had in the plan. When I requested the information to remove the monies I was told there was an issue then all communication stopped. Looking for local attorney to review the plan document and if it is binding what would it cost to send them a letter. Also would they owe for the last 3 years in interest since they won't respond.
