Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in District of Columbia

Unpaid rent/Warrant

I was issued a summons by my landlord in DC because i haven't paid Jan rent. I have a warrant in Maryland for unpaid tickets. Will i go to jail? If i pay my rent, do i still have to go to court?

No, you will not go to jail in either situation, but you will still need to appear in DC Landlord Tenant Court with proof that all of your rents which are now due have in fact been paid.
