Legal Question in Traffic Law in District of Columbia

I received 2 tickets while parked in my neighborhood in DC. One was for Failure to Report for inspection (inspection expired last week but had not had the opportunity visit the only inspection station in town.) The other was "Failure to Display Current Tags." This however is not true - I am not sure which tags they are referring to, as my plates are valid and my registration was valid (I had just renewed my registration and was displaying my temporary registration while I waited for my permanent sticker to arrive in the mail). Are they referring to the expired inspection sticker? Wouldn't that be covered under failure to report?

Not sure what they are referring to. You may decide to appear in Court and explain the situation to the judge. Your inspection sticker is not considered a "tag", only your registration. As such, I would bring a picture of your tag to Court along with your title and proof of on-time registration.

Best of luck.****The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
