Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit card lawsuit

Went through a company that helped me get a bank to write off my credit card balance. Now the bank is sueing me and I offered to pay 20% - the attorney said no. Can the bank put a lien on my home, garnish my wages or take the money in my bank account?

Re: Credit card lawsuit

If the credit card company takes you to court and wins, then they can garnish your wages and freeze your checking account. Your home is probably protected under Homestead. Any settlement is a good thing in your circumstance.
