Legal Question in Business Law in Florida
Withholding of employee paychecks
My employer has taken the stance that it will withhold a general manager's paycheck if they make errors in reporting their store's payroll that results in additional work for HR when issuing paychecks. Can this practice potentially create a legal problem for the company?

Re: Withholding of employee paychecks
Short answer is yes. The company should immediately consult with an attorney to determine the legality of their actions and to set up a procedure that will not exposed them to liability.
