retail

if a retailer advertise there product on line for a stated price, I purchase that item at there price, recieve a confirmation from the retailer, can they cancel the order and ask for more money stating there price was a mistake

Yes. Retailers have done this many times on the internet. If there is an obvious price error, they will cancel all sales under the wrong price and void the transaction. You generally have the option to purchase at the correct price, but are not under any obligation.

probably not -- unless it was an obvious mistake that you recognized as such. If they advertized a 2007 Porsche for $3100 when it should have been 31000, you probably can't keep the Porsche. If it was advertized for 30000, when they really meant 31000, then you are on pretty solid grond in demanding the car.
