Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

my sister needed her car fixed she gave it to her regular mechanic he said he'd have it fixed in a week a week turned in to 2 months and after being asked to just return the car he said he would not we reported the car stolen it was recovered in worse condition then he had recieved it. My question is can we go after him in civil court after the criminal case has been delt with. yes he was paid in full. and we have found other people he has done this same thing too

Yes, you will need an attorney to file civil charges for damages, after the criminal case is concluded. Even if he is not found guilty (criminally) he still may be found liable (civilly) because the threshold for proof and admissibility of evidence is lower in a civil case.
