Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I was chairperson for getting the entertainment in the community I live in. I sever two years and decided to turn over the dances to another resident. I have signed contracts for entainment for the year 2011. The person who took over has decided not to keep the April entertainment. The chairperson on the activities committee decided not to honor the contract. I also went to the president of the home owners and she decided the same thing. I feel this is wrong and they should pay the gentleman. Is the contact binding and should he file in small claims court to retrive his money that was promised to him. I feel responsibile because I signed this contract with this gentleman.
