Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

If I give a check to pay for a service and have a reciept for it and the check is never presented at my bank. Do I pay for the service again because the company says it is lost.

If the check does not clear and is not deducted from your bank account, then

the receipt is not sufficient to show payment. You can stop payment on the check to assure it will not be used for payment, and issue another check.
