Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Had a man call me and left a meesage on my cell said he was serving a summons because of a fraud case. Said that he will be coming to my work and home until I am served. Gave me some number (He said Case #) and said call a New York number (Cell Phone #) to find out more about it. I looked in NY and in every county in Florida I have lived in and not record of any court case. I don't have a clue what it is. What is going on is this for real or some kind of scare tactic? He said that the phone call was notice of being served? I would go to jail if I don't respond to the summons?

Service of process is by personal service of papers - a Summons and Complaint. If you can not be served then the county in which the tort/action occured - service can be made by newspaper. I suggest you check the county courthouse to see if you have an action on record there. If not, this guy is just pulling your chain. It's kind of like - "do you have Prince Albert in a can" phone fun.
