Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

10-20-life

Is there anyway in a case of getting a mandatory taken off a sentence in the 10-20-life? As if the handgun was broken and there was someone else but they talked basically to get out of it? Baiscally want to know if the mandatory can be removed?

Mandatory means mandatory for the judge after trial. The state attorney can do whatever he/she wants. You need to hire a lawyer to try and get a deal before trial.

Yes. This law is very specific in its application and has a lot of case law that controls it. A lawyer needs to review the facts of the case and the state's charging document very carefully. What county is this?
