Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
my boyfriend is being charged with domestic battery by strangulation. It was a big misunderstanding. I was heavily medicated the morning of the incident and cant remember the details. I did not call the police but I did write a statement to the facts. I dont want to press charges and have told the DA that. But the are trying to force me to testify even though I have told them that I dont remember the details. Is there a way we can have this dropped?

Your boyfriend needs to get himself a good attorney. Then the attorney can talk directly with the state attorney to see if they will dismiss it. Oftentimes it will take going to trial just to convince the prosecutor, but again talk with the attorney about that.
