I was charged with a falony in 1985 . I applied for and got job with a county government. they knew of the charge. now the job is going inder childcare lic. and the charge is under one of the morals clausand after 23 years i might lose my jo b. what to do i pled nolo contendeer and judification was withheld. The charge stemed from someone saying i bought something stolen from them I said i did't My attorney decided to go with the to close the case

Florida is an at will state.Meaning you can be fired for that reason or no reason at all.If the new employers don't want to keep you, they don't have to.

Ask your employer if it will help if the charge is sealed or expunged. If so, maybe they'll give you some time to do that.
