Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Domestic Violence

I went through a nasty divorce in 1997 and my ex-wife filed a domestic violence injuction against me. I am now trying to seek employment with a company that has told me this will keep me from getting employed even though I was never arrested and no police reports exists for any of the claims. This was all done in malice, is there any way of getting the injuction dropped? I have had no contact or desire to contact her since our divorce in 1997 and I have no criminal record except for this tag of domestic violence.

Re: Domestic Violence

you are saying you are being denied employment because of the injunction, not the the conviction for battery as i read your question. injunctions are usually not valid for 8 years at a time unless its a permanent injunction. are you sure the injunction has not expired? you would need to go before a judge to have it lifted and your ex would have to agree. do not, i repeat, do not contact your ex regarding this issue. you need to hire a lawyer to pursue this.
