Re: what is a plea bargen?

you dont really give me enough facts to completely answer your question. when someone violates their probation they are usually hels in jail with no bond until the issue is resolved. he has two choices. first he can accept the deal or plea bargain the state offers on may5th. that offer depends on what he was on proabation for, how he violated etc. It can be as low as continued proabtion and time served or as high as the stautory maximum prison sentence he could have received on the original charges.the second choice is to have a formal violation of probation hearing, where the state has to prove the violation. 99% of the time the state wins those hearings and then the judge gives out a sentence which can be almost anything as discussed above. so the answer is he will get out if the plea allows for that, if the plea is more jail or prison he won't.
