Re: drug charges

Methadone is a Schedule II drug and simply possesing it without a prescription is a 3rd degree felony; you would be looking at a max of 5 years Florida State Prison. It would be unlikely that a person would ever get that much time unless they lost at a trial or had a ton of priors.

In order to recieve extra punishment because it was near a school the person would have to be 1,000 feet or less from the school and would have to have to be charged with the sale or the intent to sell the drugs.

Feel free to give me a ring if you have any more questions; My office is here in broward counry.
