Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

am i a felon?

I entered a plea agreement with adjudication withheld for a minor cocaine charge. I was given 18 months probation which I was later found in violation of. When I went back to court the judge found the violation unlawful and dismissed the probation violation and set me free once again without adjudication or prejudice. I never before or since been arrested or charged, etc. Do I need expungement? Under Florida law am I a felon. I now live in Alabama. Can I own a firearm? The state of Florida issued me a hunting permit. I have since registered to vote without problem in both Florida and now Alabama. Again, this was a felony, but it seems all is okay, but I don't want to break any more laws without knowing. Am I considered a felon?

Re: am i a felon?

You had a felony charge, but as long as you are not convicted and only had a withhold adjudication, you still have your legal rights. You cannot expunge unless the charges were dismissed or nolle pros, but you may seal your record according top Florida law.
