Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Filing an appeal while incarcerated

My fiance wants--name removed--file a appeal on his case while he is in prison because the lawyer that he hired did not get him a good deal. he was sentenced in May 2006. How long does he have--name removed--file an appeal? He got arrested for ho driving without a license and was sentenced--name removed--5 years and a separate charge for possession that carried a 3 year sentence. He does have a criminal record and he did just get out 6 months before this happened, but is there any way that he can have the sentences ran concurrent? He said the lawyer didn't do the best job for him. then once he was sentenced, wanted more money. Please help if you can.

Re: Filing an appeal while incarcerated

A notice of appeal must be filed within 30 days of sentencing. The droundsw you mention would be a valid basis for appeal.
