Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Flase Report To Law Enforcement

My friends car was stolen from a parking lot and since he did not have drivers license I told the police that I was the one that drove the car there in the first place. They watched the tape and arrested me for lying to them about me driving the car. I guess my question is whats the next step ? I have never been in trouble before and I have no idea how this work, and while I understand that its not smart to lie to the police does this not seem like an abuse of this law.

I would suggest that you retain an attorney now. In addition, I would advise you not to speak to anyone about the facts are anything else. If you'd like me to assist you e-mail me a phone number and a time that I can reach that number as soon as possible. This could hopefully minimize your criminal problems. I look forward to receiving phone number and speaking with you.
