Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Misdemeanor

At the mere age of 15 I found myself in an abusive relationship and after years of taking that abuse I finally fought back physically and at the age if 19 I was charged with a misdemeanor and he was also. Now I admit to defending myself which I thought was a good thing until I graduated from college December 13, 2003 and now I find myself struggling to get a good job to support me and my daughter and my graduate school education. I was charged with aggravated battery (a misdemeanor) but, I am not a bad person I made a mistake and my mistake was defending myself and getting out, the working industry makes me feel like I should have just stayed in that relationship. Will I ever get a good job, will my mistake haunt me forever? I am only human and that is the only mistake that I have ever made in my entire life.

Re: Misdemeanor

Probably, you are eligible to have your record sealed, and later expunged. Talk with a local lawyer who handles this type of action. It should pretty much solve your problem.
