Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Someone in my neighborhood called police anonymous about me having drugs in the car. The police came asked to search car because of neighbors call. I gave permission because forgot I had it in the car. They found 2 grams of Marijuana and was arrested overnight. Where they allowed to search my car based on neighbor call? What if i wouldn"t have given permission to search car. It's my car and my husband drives the car only sometimes, can they proof it's mine. How many grams need to be found to get arrested? Thanks

Your permission if voluntary ,makes the neighbor;s call irrelevant. An attorney would have to look at the circumstances of the permission to determine if it was valid.

Take the police report and any other documents regarding the case and meet with a local criminal defense attorney.

Possession of any amounts of marijuana is unlawful. However, the amount determines whether you will be charged with a felony or a misdemeanor.
